You don’t know?!”
Many of us know there
aren’t many high quality programs for adults with
special needs once they graduate from High School.
There are very few, if any, quality Day Programs available
in Durham for adults with special needs.
Don’t
worry
Tania’s Place is here to help
We
have helped well over 60 families in our first year of
operation. Our second year promises to increase those we service
by almost double. Our reputation speaks for it's
self.

We
offer programs that are not only creative but of the highest
quality.

We
have been blessed with the most caring and highly qualified
staff and volunteers.

Both
Transit service providers are on board and do everything
they can to meet our clients needs.

Community
Groups like the Ajax Optimist Club have embraced our concept
and goals and are committed to assisting our families with
specific funding needs.

Local
merchants have opened their doors and we have been able to
place several of our clients in work placements. Some
have turned into Part time jobs!

Both
Boards of Education have recognized us as a viable service
provider and an option for parents.

We
have become one of the top training locations for both the
Durham Board of Educations Personal Service Worker and
Durham Colleges Human Services programs and local High
Schools for their 2 credit Coop Programs.

Of
course we have the best parents in the world. They are
always willing to assist in the continued success of Tania's
Place.
So
what does this all mean? WE DID IT, IT'S WORKING and WE ARE GROWING. We will be looking at opening our second
location in the Oshawa area sometime in the Fall of 2006 or
Summer of 2007.

is...... a fun, exciting and productive place for our children
to come to each day.
Tania’s Place is an Innovative,
Original and Creative Day Program that services Adults 18 years and older
and teens 13 to 17 years of age who live with a Developmental and or

DAY PROGRAM NOTE!!
We
have reached our HIGH NEEDS capacity and we have started
a waiting list.
Space
is becoming limited for our Day Program. If you've
placed your son or daughter on our interest list
(previously called a waiting list) and haven't secured
their spot, PLEASE do not wait. We have been
receiving numerous enquires, many commitments and will
be reaching our capacity very soon based on present
staffing ratios. So don't wait and avoid

Important:
If your son or daughter is on a Community Living Waiting List in
either Ajax/Pickering or Oshawa/Clarington, we have space for
them. There is NO need for your son or daughter to be on a
waiting list when there are now other options. Remember it is your
choice as a parent to decide where your child should
go.
Tania's Place
offers

day and daily services, Monday to Friday
(8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.)
- Qualified
and caring Staff. Over 30 years of recreational
program experience and 5 years of Personal Service
Experience and over 22 years personal experience of
parenting a Special Needs Child.

work placements
- Programs
for Saturday's, Summer Break, PD days, March Break, evening
and Saturday night dance socials for young adults 13 yrs of
age and older.
